ECC approved for public consultation a draft ECC Decision on the designation of the bands 880-915 MHz, 925-960 MHz, 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz for terrestrial IMT-2000/UMTS systems. ETNO expects UMTS/IMT-2000 deployment in GSM bands from the year 2007 in some countries and therefore supports the Decision itself with the deletion of the explanation of the term “designate†in the Scope of the Decision, the removal of the WAPECS reference and the addition of a call for “fair competition†in the decides section.
